Martinique is also known as the island of flowers, this other name brought on by the wondrous, multicolored flowers that inhabit the beautiful French-Caribbean island. Most of Martinique's people are Roman Catholics, and the second most common religion among its people is Protestant. This island's official language is French but used to be Creole, a form of language that was mixed with African and French so the masters could communicate with their slaves, and the Creole is gradually changing to be more like French.
Martinique mainly exports bananas, rum, sugarcane, and pineapples. Sugarcane and bananas being the island's main cash crops. Also, Martinique imports a lot of meat such as steak.
